Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Forrestal and was retired from Armco Steel and Centerpoint Energy.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda Melancon; sister, Pat Coldwell; children, Becky McCullough and husband, Mitch, Gale Melancon and wife, Annette, Jo Lynn Winfrey and Amanda Melancon-Davis and, husband, Donald; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren as well as well as numerous other family and friends.
A visitation for Joseph will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home 2444 Rollingbrook Dr. Baytown TX 77521 with funeral services on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:15 a.m..
