Joyce Marie Farr

Joyce Marie, 73 of Baytown, Texas, passed away August 15, 2021. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 19, 1947 to Raymond Moses and Hazel Estelle Baker. Then later, moved to Bridge City where she attended Bridge City High School. She married Ronald Gene Farr in Baytown, Texas and they were married for 50 years. Together they had two daughters, Julie and Kristi.

Joyce worked at Southwestern Bell for numerous years before going to work for GCCISD. After retiring from GGCISD, she enjoyed working with children in Daycares. She was loving, selfless, giving, caring and dedicated to her family. She had a passion for crocheting, and loved to listen to Cajun music especially her great nephew’s Cajun band. If Joyce wasn’t shopping for her grandkids, celebrating special events or spending time with family, you could find her at the casino, possibly even dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Gene Farr, both parents, Raymond and Hazel Moses, sister, Mildred Ann and brother in law Andrew Guidry; half-brother Doyle Swift and half-sister Betty Jean.

She is survived by daughters, Julie Johnson and Kristi Schmadl and her husband Corey Schmadl; sister, Alta Posey; grandchildren, Blake Johnson and his wife Syvannah, Tyler Segers and Kaylee Schmadl; great-grand kids, Brayleigh Johnson, Kayden Johnson, and Rylie Stump; Nephews David Guidry and his wife Pam, Richard Guidry and his wife Tami, Paul Guidry and his wife Debbie and Robert Evans; Nieces Denise Novak and her husband Joseph, Paula Jacobs, Jennifer Franklin and her husband Gary; and numerous great nieces and nephews; step-son Scott Farr and his wife Julie and step-daughter Candice Stone; step-grandchildren, Taylor Farr, Haley Farr, Andrew Parkinson, Amber Parkinson and Sydney Stone.

A Memorial Service will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00A.M. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be David Guidry, Richard Guidry, Paul Guidry, Robert Evans, Tyler Segers, Blake Johnson, Nick Boyett, Gary Franklin and Corey Schmadl.
