I did not know that your mom had died until today. I am so sorry. She and I would run into the store occasionally and we would always have a nice conversation. I have really great memories of being neighbors and, of course, of you kids.

Denise, I am sorry for the loss of your Mom. I have often wondered where you were and how you were. It has been a long time since high school, but we did have fun. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Nancy Norris Baumbach

Juene was a dear friend of mine. We worked together at Stephen F. Austin Elementary for 14 years and she was consistently an outstanding educator who met the needs of her students, their families, fellow teachers, and her own family. Jim, I want to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of your mother. You and your family will be in my prayers and I ask that the Lord give you comfort in this time of grief.

My name is Jerry Cates. I had the honor of having Mrs. Weir as a 2nd grade teacher at Stephen F. Austin, and from that point forward I never had a teacher that I respected more than Mrs. Weir. She was a teacher that had the ability to make you want to learn. She was able to adapt to every student, and successfully challenge them to do their very best.
I was glad I had the opportunity to catch up with her at the Christmas service at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church in 2012, 43 years after being a student in her class. It was as if I had stepped back in her class again. She not only remembered me, but was able to recall some of the experiences of me in her class.
Mrs. Weir was a remarkable person. She will be missed.

I did not know Juene; however, at Ashland I had the pleasure of working with Joe Muller and Wop and I went to Robert E Lee with a wonderful girl named Ossie. No doubt this is a beautiful family. Sincerely
