

He was born June 21, 1939 in Stantonsburg, N.C. He was preceeded in death by his son Dwayne Davis, parents, Roy and Mae Davis, brothers, Roy Thomas Davis, George Preston Davis and two nephews, George Irvin Davis and George Preston Davis II.
Julian was survived by his loving wife, Carol Davis of 50 years, daughters; Elizabeth Brinkley and husband Dean, April Sanchez; brother, William (Uncle Tinker) Cooper Davis and wife Mary; grandsons; Jimmy ""J.D."" Brinkley and wife Jennifer, Billy Brinkley & Anthony Sanchez. Four nephews, Two nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews and many loving family friends.
Julian grew up in North Carolina and graduated from high school and joined the Navy Air. He was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas when he married the love of his life Carol Edwards in 1960. Five and one-half months later they moved to Baytown where Julian worked with GTE and retired after 30 years of service. He then worked at Lee College as their Tele-communications/Networking Technician and retired after 15 years of service. Julian was very active in his home church, Family Church for 48 years. Julian was also an ordained minister, elder, prayer leader and teacher. In Baytown, Julian was president of the ""Noon Optomist"" Club and ""Full Gospel Businessmen's Association"". Julian's hobbies included antiquing and re-saling. Julian loved meeting, talking and being with people. Julian never met a stranger.
Services are as follows: The viewing will be held Sunday, October 24, 2010 between 2PM-4PM at Navarre Funeral Home located at 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX. 77521 (281) 422-8111. Funeral ervices will be held Monday, October 25, 2010 at Family Church located at 14718 Woodforest Blvd (at Beltway 8) in Houston, Texas from 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery located at 3010 Ferry Road in Baytown, Texas with services being officiated by Nathan Hyman and Milton Koonce, Ministers.
Serving as pallbearers are Dean Brinkley, Billy Brinkley, Joe Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, Kenneth Davis and Chad Davis.
Julian will be deeply missed by all of those who loved him and those that he has touched their lives. He will always be remembered by his empowering love for the Lord and his never ending encouraging words of faith as our Savior leads him into the gates of peacefulness.
