

Karen Lee Licari, 75, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at her home, in Lufkin, Texas. She was born on November 11th, 1950, in Baytown, Texas, to parents Louis (Buddy) August Hanson, Jr. and Nellie Doris Black Hanson. Karen grew up in Baytown and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, class of 1970. After graduation, she worked in retail off and on. For the last 20 years, Karen has been a homemaker. Karen married Jerome (Jerry) Joseph Licari, in 1976, in Baytown. They were happily married for 41 years.
Karen enjoyed spending time making crafts, building and designing doll houses, and making jewelry. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Licari; her parents Louis (Buddy) and Nellie Hanson; her brothers Lewis Allen Hanson and Ronald Wayne Hanson; and her brother-in-law Kerry Laramore.
Karen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Gary Eppler, of Baytown. Her son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Tammy Licari, of Lufkin; her son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Holley Licari of Baytown; her grandchildren Andrew and wife, Megan, Celeste and her significant other Max, and Anthony and Wyatt Licari; her great-granddaughter Presley; her sister Terri Laramore; her numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.
Though Karen is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A funeral service will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas 77521 beginning at 2pm, on Friday, July 17th, 2026. A visitation will be held an hour before the funeral service. With a graveside service immediately following the funeral service at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
