Kathryn Ross Scrivner, 77, of The Woodlands, formerly Baytown was born July 1, 1931 in Pecos, TX and passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 in a Houston hospice. She was a graduate of North Texas University and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, The Daughters of the Republic, The Daughters of the American Revolution and the Baytown Art League. She loved fashion, having formerly modeled at some of the biggest fashion shows in Dallas and was a fan of politics and world affairs. Kathryn was an accomplished artist and loved traveling, antiquing, reading, sharing recipes, and playing Duplicate Bridge, having won many tournaments across the state.
She was preceded in death by her father, Denwood Ross; mother, Treblah Halbert Ross; and brother, Dr. Denwood Ross Jr. and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Pamela Scrivner of Clear Lake; daughters, Karen Coy of Baytown and Julia Anne Scrivner of The Woodlands; sisters, Mary Beth Lane of Arlington and Denise Brown of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Archie Ross of Woodland Park, CO and Jimmy Ross of Salina, OH; grandchildren, Dawn and John Bursell of Camp Verde, AZ and Brian Ross Scrivner of Clear Lake; great grandchildren, Dakota, Christian, Sarah and Brianna Bursell; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Serving as pallbearers will be Conrad Magouirk, Conrad Magouirk Jr., Michael Magouirk, Mark Andrews, Charles Conder and Richard Lane.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Osborn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
