Kenneth Raeburn Stanley, of Highlands, Texas passed away July 1, 2025 at the age of 82 years old. He was born in Alto, Texas on August 6, 1942 to Thomas Raeburn & Freddie Lou Stanley. He married Brenda McHugh on September 23, 1961. They were happily married for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, baby brother Jerrell, brother Dickey Stanley and wife Charlotte, and beloved son, Tommy Stanley.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sister Helen Staudt, brother Terry Stanley and wife Prissy, brother Troy Stanley and wife Shirley, and sister Joy Swanner and husband Mike; son Roy Stanley and wife Sarah, daughter-in-law, Carla Stanley, son Rickey Stanley and wife Tommie, and daughter Angie Stanley; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
After high school, Kenneth had a career in the automotive industry as a machinist. As a young kid, he worked for his Uncle Bob’s Small Engine, then Franta Pontiac. He worked at Golden Triangle Engine Service for 26 years and then Harris Engines, for another 26 years. He didn’t retire until he was well into his 70’s. He loved to work on just about anything, and he could fix anything he put his hands on. When he was a child he took things apart, just to figure out how to put them back together.
Kenneth loved fishing (especially with his grandmother and her friends), he loved racing (especially when Roy and Tommy had racecars) and he loved watching the Astros (especially when they were winning!)
Kenneth and Brenda were long time members of the Bayshore Fine Rides Car Club. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon for many years.
He had many, many, good friends, and he loved his family fiercely, and they all loved him right back. He lived out his faith boldly, and we know without a doubt that his lord and savior, Jesus Christ welcomed him home with open arms, saying “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
