KM "Fat Mac" Williamson

August 13, 1940September 11, 2019

Kendal “Fat Mac” Williamson was born August 13, 1940 in Henderson, TX to Walter and Wilma Williamson and he left this earth September 11, 2019. Mac leaves behind an entire community to mourn his loss.

Mac became a butcher at 17. He then joined the military and served in the Air Force. He was stationed at Great Falls, Montana where he served as a military police officer. After his service in the Air Force, Mac spent 2 years with the Jacinto City Police Department and then 2 with Galena Park Police Department. He finally found his home with the Baytown Police Department where he served the community 27 1/2 years until his retirement on January 31, 1995. After his retirement Mac devoted his life to fixing up used bicycles and giving them away at Christmas time to children in our community. Mac gave away close to 500 bicycles in one year alone.

Mac often said he was ready whenever the good Lord was ready to take him. He would often say “I’ve lived a good life”. And that he did. Mac lived a life of service, a life well lived. The Poplaski family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and for Mac’s doctors, nurses and those who took such good care of him.

I personally have never met Mr. Fat Mac but i lived right down the street from his bicycle facility.
I would go to & fro his direction every day & just look at all the bicycles he had to consider fixing.
I saw him get around so slowly & wonder if he would be okay by himself doing that.
I just wanted to share the only experience i had. I did also watch an interview he did on Facebook & thought to myself this guy is so awesome to do that for the kids!
My prayers go out to you Fat Mac & all of his family!

Fat Mac always had a big heart. Though many probably weren't around or do not remember, he lived at the then called Villa Marina at the end of Ward Road. In the years around 1981, he aways had a big free watermelon party for all the children there during the summer.

He will, for sure, be greatly missed.
