Laura Naomi Sasse

She was preceded in death by her mother Johnie Mae Sasse and father, Rev. Brooks Sasse. She is survived by her daughter, Chrissy Sasse, of Pearland, and numerous other family members.

Naomi worked as a nurse for the Harris County Health Department. Upon retirement, she continued her nursing career as a substitute school nurse in the Baytown, Texas region.

Naomi was a lifetime member in the Art League of Baytown, where she was a long time resident. Naomi was involved with Rising Stars, special needs adults, on their weekly art projects. She rarely missed an opportunity to work alongside her “kids”.

Naomi moved to Deer Park in 2018 and had many friends in her complex, where she was an active member of the Fireside Ladies. She also organized and led a Craft Class for residents in her apartments. Additionally, Naomi was a weekly volunteer at a local animal adoption center.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Alford, Ken Foster, Matt Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Lacy, Charles Williford, Dennis Salo, Gary Gardner and David Williford.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Rising Stars Art League of Baytown or The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486. Please include the word “Leukemia” and her name in the memo portion.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Visitation will begin at 10 AM and the Funeral Service will begin at 12 PM. Burial will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N. Main St., Houston, TX 77009.
