

Ruth Laverne Pace Savell Epperson, age 99, went to be with her Lord peacefully on April 30 in Baytown, Texas. She was born July 27, 1924 in Goose Creek, Texas, the fourth child of Marshall Pace and Mary Susan Reese Pace, of the Pace’s Place Mexican Restaurant family.
Laverne was a long-time employee of Humble Oil Refinery as an accountant in which she retired. She then continued her employment as a bookkeeper for Savell Homes and later as a secretary for Savell Contractors. Laverne was a deeply religious woman who loved Jesus and was a lifetime member of the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, predominant Baytown home builder Dan Savell; by husband, Bayne Epperson; her daughter, Donna Sue Savell; her father, Marshall Pace, and mother, Mary Reese.
Laverne is survived by her son, Gary Daniel Savell, and her grandchildren Matthew McCollum, Aaron Savell, Landon Savell and Azley Savell.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 11, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with funeral services at 11:30 a.m., at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521, with interment following at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The Pallbearers are Aaron Savell, Ramsey Savell, Randy Shirley, George Collier Jr., Richard Eisenhower, and Keith Sanders.
The family would like to personally thank Swan Manor and their Hospice staff for their special care and kindness they gave Laverne throughout the years.
