Mr. Lendell Vivian Keene

He served in the Army during the Korean War from February 24, 1951, to February 24, 1953, and married his sweetheart, Annetta Marie Brannon, on February 25, 1953, the day after his discharge. Together, they raised five children: daughter Faye Ann Crane, son Lendell Carl Keene, and wife, Linda; daughter Janie Marie Higginbotham and husband, Fred; son Walter Ezell Keene; and daughter Vicky Lanae Hamilton, all of Baytown.

He is survived by his wife and children and his grandchildren, Shannon Chene and husband, Scott; Stephanie Crane; Tina Keene; Lendell Keene Jr.; Brittney Irby and husband, Ian; Misti McBride and husband, Brad; Wayne Higginbotham and wife, Lisa; Keith Higginbotham; Connie Vega and husband, Abraham; Lindsey Hill; and Christy Sharp.

His great-grandchildren are Alton Adams, Marissa Adams, Madison Crane Lopez; Logan Crane; Trinity Hawthorne; Dewey Townsend, Christopher Townsend and girlfriend, Shelbie; Tre Keene and girlfriend, Kaitlyn; Katelyn Keene and fiancée, Thomas; Piper Keene; Maretta Keene; Lorelai Willis; Caden Rainey; Rylan Irby; Brookelyn Livanec; Jacob Livanec; Cara Ondruch and husband, Charlie; Wade Higginbotham and girlfriend, Shelby; Jacob Quinones; Eleeanna Quinones; Ashlyn Higginbotham; Kaitlyn Higginbotham; Bryan McLennan; Hayden Mullins; Bailey Mullins; Christian Ramirez; Noah Osiguerra; Emma Sharp; Danae Vega, Noah Deanda; Miguel Deanda; Joshua Deanda; and Madeline Vega.

Great-great-grandchildren are Ledger Ondruch, Easton Ondruch, Kinley Ondruch, Bexley Ondruch, Tilly Townsend, and Rylene Higginbotham.

Brother Wesley Felts, and wife, Linda; brother Charles Martin; sister Maude Letney; sister Mary Martin; and a large number of nieces and nephews who will also cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Claudia Keene; brothers Tom Felts, Lyndol Felts, Oliver Keene, and Wayne Keene; sisters Glynnis Felts and Ruth Lovell; mother-in-law Annabell Brannon and father-in-law Faye Brannon; brother-in-law Tommy Brannon; sisters-in-law Patricia Martinez and Judy Nemecheck; granddaughter Kimberly Higginbotham; grandsons Chris Hawthorne and Matthew Henderson, and great-granddaughter Cassie Willis.

Lendell worked as a steel pourer and crane operator for Armco Steel for 36 years. He enjoyed being a Harris County Precinct 3 Reserve Constable for many years. He was a Mason at the Park Place Lodge in Houston. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling with their hotshot business, but most of all, he liked being at home with his family.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 26th, from 11:00 to 12:00, with the service beginning at 12:00, Brother James Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens at 1:30 and a meal will be served at the Burnside party barn, 6427 E. Wallisville Road immediately following. All are welcome.
