

She was born June 2, 1920 in Columbus County, North Carolina to her late parents, James Carson Hill and Kittie Jacobs Hill, had lived in the Baytown area for the last 18 years and had previously lived in Liberty.
Mrs. Young was a member of Maranatha Church in Mont Belvieu and was a member of Golden Glow there. She was a retired waitress, member of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed crafts.
Letha was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joseph ""Al"" Young and Waylon Lowery; sisters, Eula Gore and Lee Madonna and brothers, Esque Hill and Homer Hill.
Survivors include sons, Wilbert Lowery and his wife Waltraud of Mississippi and Herman Lowery and his wife Ursula of Mont Belvieu; daughters, Katie Millsap and her husband Sam of Stafford, Chiquita Ethridge and her husband Ray of Corpus Christi and Deborah Moody and her husband Mike of Clear Lake; sister, Beatrice Hinson of North Carolina and brother, Noah Hill of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Trice officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
