Jill is survived by daughters Diana Hickerson of Houston, Texas and Linda Hickerson Hofheinz and husband Fred Hofheinz, of Houston; nieces Melanie Cashat of Clear Lake, Mary Ann Wendorf of Kerrville, Jean Dillon of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; nephew Mark McConathy of Baytown; numerous grand nieces and nephews across the country; and her beloved puppy, Betsy.
Jill worked at the Lillie Duke Hospital in Baytown, where she met and married her sweetheart, Jack Hickerson, a union that lasted for more than 65 years, until his death. She was an early member of Grace United Methodist Church, and they were both members of the Home Makers Class.
She was naturally gifted at sewing, quilting and many different crafts, and was an inspired cook. She was a devoted mother who was there for her two daughters throughout their lives.
After Jack's passing, Jill made new connections at Remington Park, and dearly loved her friends there, particularly Mrs. Margie Glass.
Jill's sweet spirit, kindness, spunky nature, soft voice and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jill's life will be celebrated at Grace United Methodist Church, 304 N. Pruett, Baytown, TX 77520 on Thursday, February 5th, 2009, with a family visitation at 1:00 p.m. and a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Beverly Tune will be officiating, with Rev.
