

Lillyne Francis Maroney Crist Eignus Van Kleef, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 20, 1923 in Breckenridge, Texas to Roy and Lora Bell Maroney. After attending Lamar High School, she graduated from Rice University in 1944 and began a career in teaching. She married George E. Crist and spent the next 40 years raising their children and acting as an extraordinary corporate wife, as she and George lived in Baytown, Cuba, The Netherlands, and Baton Rouge. She ended her time in Friendswood, Kerrville, and Houston. She was a woman who spread her arms wide to embrace with love her family, her extended family and those who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Lillyne will be truly missed by her family and all those that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouses William Eignus and William Van Kleef, and sister-in-law Kathleen Maroney. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Crist (Stephen Earnest) her daughter, Marilyn Constance Crist, and son, George Crist, Jr., (Kathy), her brother James Maroney and sister Annette Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and step-children whom she loved. She also leaves behind her most precious treasures, her legacy of grandchildren Jane Champion (Grant), Susan Dugat (Will), Elliott Crist, Carolyn Crist and Stephanie Grubbs (Alan), as well as great-grandchildren Colin and Kate Champion and Liam Dugat.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 5010 N. Main St., Baytown, Texas, 77521.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or the Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.
