She was born in Rockport, Texas on October 20, 1941, to Kathryn Olivia Deason and Edric Franklin Deason. She was the 2nd oldest of 5 sisters. While in high school in Rockport she met her future husband and life-long love, William (Tom) Thomas Bradshaw at the age of 15. After their marriage they settled in Baytown, Texas where she worked in food service at both San Jacinto Hospital and Lee College. She worked her way up at San Jacinto hospital from a kitchen helper to food service supervisor. Then moving on to Lee College, she served as food service manager for almost 20 years before her retirement.
She bowled for over 60 years and her bowling alley friends truly became the extended family of her and Tom. She got great pride out of watching her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren play football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, track, and swimming over the years. She rarely missed a football practice when her sons were playing at Robert E. Lee and she found great happiness and pride while attending her grandchildren’s high school and college sports at Cy-Fair High School, Barbers Hill High School, and Rice University.
She is preceded in death by Tom, her parents, and her sister, Jackie Miller. She and Tom found Christ in the later part of their life and were members at 2nd Church in Baytown. She is now blessed with the reunion and eternal life with Tom through the grace of God.
She is survived by her sisters, Frances Reese of Brownsville Texas, Judy Zink of Baytown, Texas, and Cathy Harris King of Taft, Texas. She is also survived by her two sons and their families; Freddy and Leslie Bradshaw and Jeff and Angela Bradshaw. She is blessed with 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren who are doing the best to make her proud as they strive to be good Christians and do their best in athletics.
