Linda Ray Searcy

Linda Ray Searcy, 76, passed away on Thursday October 11, 2018 at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Linda was born November 9th, 1941, in Benson, Illinois but grew up in Baytown, Texas, where she graduated from Robert E Lee HS in 1960 and then raised her family. She later moved to New Braunfels, Texas to enjoy her retirement years with her husband Joe Searcy. She was a long-time member of the Canyon Lake VFW Auxiliary 8573.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; brothers, Raymond (Freddy) Benson, Carey & Barbara Benson, Brett & Ana Benson and her sister Renita Godeaux; sons Michael Kovalcik, Mitchell & Leigh Kovalcik, David & Troy Kovalcik; her daughter Donna Gassiot; grandsons, Christopher & Sarah Kovalcik, Austin Kovalcik; granddaughters, Hailey Gassiot, and Kaitlin Gassiot; and her great grandchildren, Caleb and Ryan Kovalcik. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Cobb; her father, Raymond Benson; and her sister, Beverly Ann McCartney.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM, Saturday October the 20th, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr. in Baytown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family’s wish is for donations to be made to your local ASPCA.
