Linda Sue Staples

Linda Sue Staples, 77, of Baytown, Texas, passed away December 28, 2019. Linda was born in Houston, Texas on September 30, 1942 to James C. Thomas and Mary Helen Thomas. She shared her life with her beloved Jeffery Stephenson for 21 loving years. Linda worked at the Port of Houston and at San Jacinto Hospital, Baytown, TX. She was a member of the Lakewood Church of Christ in Baytown, TX. Linda had a passion for cooking, always trying new recipes; she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Linda had a green thumb and she could grow anything. Linda enjoyed reading her Bible and helping anyone with any issues; she was always willing to help anyone in need and would give you her last dollar to help.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Mary Helen Thomas, father: James C. Thomas, husband: Joy A. Staples, brother: Marvin Ray Thomas, brother: Bobby Leon Thomas, and cousin: Joyce Lipps.

She is survived by her beloved Jeffery Stephenson of 21 wonderful years of true love, Daughter: Diane Tevis and husband Mike, Daughter: Laura Arnold Staples, Son: Randy Staples and wife Linda, Granddaughter: Wendy Correa and husband Gabe, Grandson: Daniel Franklin and wife Connie, Grandson: Michael S. Tevis and wife Cynthia, Granddaughters: Lacey Staples and Christy Staples, Great Grandson: Giovanni Correa, Sister- in- law: Connie Jean Thomas and Children, Cousins: Marsha Kay Gamble and children, Allen Pennington, Shirley Lunnon and husband Skip, Dearest friends and neighbors: Rae Jones and husband Art, Joan Carpenter, Mary Brown, Sharron McCarren and Sharon Beaubouef. All her nephews and nieces she loved so much, Wonderful neighbors in Baytown and all her deer camp friends. Please forgive us if we did not mention anyone.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-12:30 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2019, with a funeral service to starting at 12:30 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. Burial is to follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
