

Lonnie B. Callion, 83, of Baytown, TX, passed away on December 28, 2019. She was born in Wilmont, MS on March 9, 1936 to Elijah Cotton and Georgia B. Braison. She was married to Thomas James Callion until his death. Lonnie had a career in culinary and domestic cleaning until she retired. At the age of 9, she received Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was baptized by Reverend Jones at Mt. Carmel MB Church. Lonnie served as a choir member at Mt. Carmel and was Queen Mother of the Knight & Daughters of Tabor. She had a passion for fishing, gardening, raising poodles and singing.
Lonnie is preceded in death by her father, Elijah Cotton; her mother, Georgia B. Braison; her son, Robert Leon Reese; 2 granddaughters, Kathy Lee Smith and La’Shell Annette Smith; 3 sisters, Roberta Ross, Elmira Williams and Charlene Ross; 2 aunts, Elmira Clinton and Adel Braison; and her uncle, Leroy Braison.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Earlene Smith of Greenville, MS, Bonnie Woodard and husband Tetrone of Baytown, TX; son, Harry Callion of Chicago, IL; 3 sisters, Delores Allen of Chicago, IL, Velma Ross of Chicago, IL, and Betty Jean Tate of Leland, MS; 3 brothers, Selvester Ross of Leland, MS, Charles Ross and wife Cleopatra of Nashville,TN, and Henry Ross of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 expected great-great grandchildren and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their love to Lonnie’s grandson and his wife Marquis Woodard and Amy Woodard for the special love they have for his mother Bonne.
