Lynda Barrow Odom, born October 26, 1942, passed away on July 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Lynda lived a life marked by devotion, creativity, hard work, and a deep commitment to her church and community.
She is survived by her daughter Crystal Silvestri, and by Mark Silvestri, Carlton Odom, and Deloris Odom. Lynda leaves behind a large and cherished family of grandchildren: Rachel and Rhett Dickerson, Nicole and Alex Edwards, Jasmine and Tom Kies, and Erik, Michael, and Emily Odom. Her great grandchildren — Scarlett Dickerson, James Edwards, Margaret, Eleanor, and Edison Odom, and Ely and Finnley Odom — brought her tremendous joy. She is also remembered by several step children and extended family.
Lynda is survived by her brother John Crews, and sisters Fern Richard and Freida Marlow.
Lynda worked for many years as the Security Manager at K Mart in Jacinto City. When K Mart closed, she boldly pursued a new path, attending school to become a massage therapist. She later managed a salon where she practiced massage and reflexology. After marrying Robert “Bob” Odom, she stepped out on her own. Bob built her a studio, where Lynda proudly operated her own business and served her clients with skill and compassion.
A devoted member of Maranatha Church, now Hillside, for over 20 years, Lynda served faithfully in the Music Ministry, Singles Ministry, Outreach, and Eagles Ministry. She met Dave Lancon (“Uncle Dave”) while working with Allen and Lil Moorehead, and he soon became her and Bob’s pastor. Lynda gave her heart to serving wherever she was needed, especially in music — a place where her spirit shined.
Lynda was also a gifted artist, working in acrylics and chalk. She loved her family deeply and made sure they gathered every year for Christmas morning breakfast, a tradition that will live on in her honor.
Lynda will be missed by all who knew her, loved her, and were touched by her kindness, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her family and church.
Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, on July 13, 2026, at 11:00 am and Chapel Service starting at 12:00 pm. Service will conclude at 1:00 pm in the chapel.
