After enduring a lingering illness she passed away on July 21, 2026 in Morgan’s Point, Texas. Just as she desired, she left this earthly life at home with her sweetheart Jesse by her side.
Lynn grew up in Syosset, New York with her parents, Charles and Marion Miller, along with her brother Rick, who she adored. She attended Syosset High School where she played the clarinet in the band. She used her zest for service as a high schooler in the Navy Seabee Auxiliary organization.
After high school she attended Farmingdale College on Long Island. Most of her career was spent overseeing the medical records in several hospitals in different states. She ultimately landed in Baytown, Texas where she met Jesse, the love of her life.
Lynn married Jesse Kirkpatrick October 20, 1979 in Morgan’s Point, Texas. She enjoyed traveling together with Jesse, cruising the world and a memorable trip to Europe with Jesse’s brothers and their wives. Her life revolved around cooking and eating great food, hosting family, friends and business dinner parties, planning family reunions, all in their home on the Galveston Bay.
Later in life, she pursued her real estate license and shortly thereafter received her brokerage license. Lynn finished off her career running the business side of Jesse’s dental practice. Because of her attention to detail and appetite to have the job done right she naturally excelled in all that was placed before her, whether it was managing medical records, being a real estate broker, building a garage or remodeling their home. All who knew her and spent time in her home knew there was a label for everything. There was a place for everything and everything had a place.
She was a woman of service being a watchful caretaker to countless friends and neighbors. She was always available to lend a helping hand to those in need. Lynn found joy in volunteering at the Boys and Girls Harbor in Morgan’s Point for many years.
Throughout her life, although small in stature, Lynn was a spiritual giant. She faithfully followed Jesus’ decree to love thy neighbor. Her prayers were simple, yet beautiful.
Lynn loved to research extensively before making any decision; large or small. In July of 2023, she was baptized and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The highlight of Lynn’s spiritual journey was when in October of 2024 she and Jesse made covenants with each other and with their Heavenly Father in a holy temple, which sealed them as eternal companions beyond this earthly life; for time and eternity.
Lynn is survived by her husband Jesse Beck Kirkpatrick, bonus son Jesse Byron (Janet) Kirkpatrick, sisters-in-law Marged Kirkpatrick and Judy Kirkpatrick, niece Kimberly (Ross) Hamilton, nephews Mark (Kendall) Selby and Kenneth (Jen) Miller, and James Miller,. Grandsons Jesse Braeden and Joshua Randall Kirkpatrick. She adored her grandsons who knew her as “Granny Happy”
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles R. Miller & Marion F. Miller, brother Charles “Rick” Miller, sisters-in-law Linda Miller and Sharon Miller, brothers-in-law Michael K. and W. Charles Kirkpatrick, sister-in-law Jacquelin F. Kirkpatrick, and nephew Kevin L.Kirkpatrick.
