M. Frank Whitfield

M. Frank Whitfield loving husband, father, and grandfather, born June 4, 1933 at age 83 went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 28, 2016. He was born in a small community in Overstreet, Florida and raised in Wewahitchka, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years E. Jean Whitfield and three children, Debbie Thorson and husband Michael, Lonnie Whitfield, and Jeanna Allen and husband Kenneth. He has nine grandchildren, Melissa Granich and husband David, Carmen McIntyre and husband Ben, Michael Thorson, Jr. and wife Lauren, Joshua Thorson and wife Marie, Lonnie Whitfield Jr. and wife Brandi, Amanda Whitfield, Michael Jacobs, Gary Jacobs and wife Jessica and John Allen. He also leaves behind 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Eliza Whitfield of Wewahitchka, Florida, a brother John Henry Whitfield, a sister Lou Addie Eaker of Overstreet, Florida, a daughter-in-law Laura Dean Whitfield of Baytown, Texas and a granddaughter Kari Lynne Thorson.

He retired from Todd Shipyard in Houston, Texas after 30 years of service where he was a crane operator. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and being with his family. The family would like to thank Hospice Plus, especially his nurse Guy and director Ginny, also, his physician, Dr. Fredrico Dancel for all their help and kindness.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lonnie Whitfield, Jr., John Allen, Michael Jacobs, Gary Jacobs, Michael Thorson, Jr., and Joshua Thorson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Granich and Ben McIntyre.

Services will be under direction of Earthman Funeral Home at 3919 Garth Road in Baytown, Texas. Family will receive visitors on Saturday, December 31 from 11am-1pm and services will be following at 1pm.
