Maggie Streich

Maggie Streich went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 24, 2009 in a hospital in Richardson, TX. She was born April 3, 1919, in Granada, TX to Will and Nancy Oliver. Maggie moved to Baytown, TX, when she was seven and spent the next eighty-three years there. Maggie was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Baytown and deeply loved the Lord. Her faith was a testimony to all. She took ""early retirement"" around her 90th birthday from her accounting business that she had enjoyed since the early 1980's. She dearly loved all her clients and hated to retire. Maggie worked for Milton Campbell, CPA for years prior to starting her business. She was known to her grandchildren as ""Mimi"" and they all agree she was the best grandmother ever - they loved having her accompany them on vacations. She was an encourager to everyone, always ready to help, and a joy and blessing to be around because of her positive, fun-loving spirit. She loved people and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and her husband of almost fifty years, Charlie M. Streich. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Blume and husband, Dr. Richard Blume, of Richardson, TX; three grandsons, their wives, and seven great-grandchildren: Blake and Devry Smith of Sachse, TX, and Trevor, Colton, and Breanna; Scott and Brenda Smith of Allen, TX, and Chandler; Todd and Melissa Smith of Murphy, TX, and Maggie, Dillon and Daniel; sister-in-law Margaret Streich and nieces and husbands Hoya and Angie Ash and Jimmy and Sandra McGee, all of Baytown, TX; and her dear friend Jean Robinson of Baytown and daughters Beth and Judy who the family thanks for all their kindness to Maggie.

A visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Navarre Funeral Home from 6 - 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr, Baytown, TX 77521 with Rev. Bonnie Parker and Rev. Charles Probst officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park.

We are grateful to God for her Christian example of what a mother and grandmother should be. Maggie was a great lady and will live on through everyone who knew and loved her.
