Manuel Marroquin Alegria

Manuel Marroquin Alegria, age 82, of Baytown, Texas, gained his wings on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022. He was born on December 4, 1939, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas to Florensio and Martha Alegria. He shared his parents with his twin sister and nine other siblings. In 1962 he married his first wife Leonor and together they raised their two children; Miladila and Ronaldo. Soon after he was married he had the opportunity to travel the states as a migrant farmer with his family. He lived and worked in California, Ohio, Kansas, Georgia, and Florida before coming back to Texas where he made Baytown his home. In his early 30’s he started his career as welder. He was very proud of his craft and was known to be able to build and fix anything. When he wasn’t at work you could always find him outside working on one of his many projects. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, and collecting tools. After he retired he enjoyed traveling with is wife Juana, hanging out in his garage, and drinking a cold beer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Florensio and Martha Alegria; his first wife of 40 years Leonor Alegria; his son Ronaldo “Ronnie” Iracheta Alegria; his twin sister Aurora Alegria; along with his other siblings, Jose Alegria Marroquin, Miguel Alegria Marroquin, Pablo Alegria Marroquin, Alejandro Alegria Marroquin, Armando Alegria Marroquin, Margarita Alegria Perez, Eloisa Alegria Tijerina, Juana Alegria Tovar, and Felicitas Alegria Partida.

His loving family he leaves behind includes his wife Juana Alegria of 17 years; daughter, Miladila Flores and husband Eduardo; daugher-in-law, Kathryn Alegria; stepdaughter, Iveleth Hernandez; grandchildren; Monica Sanchez, Elizabeth Costello and husband Jesse, Cristal Villegas and husband Oscar, Manuel Alegria, Kayty Gutierrez, Ronaldo Alegria Jr and wife Megan, Aaron Alegria, Madison Alegria, Katlyn Alegria; step grandchildren; Yahir Hernandez, and Jazmine Hernandez; great-grandchildren,Daizy, Johnathon, Karina, Toni, Hayley, Oscar Jr, Samantha, Lyndsea, Gracie, Andrew, Ryan, Eric Jr, Madilyn, Natalie, Leo, and Sophia; great-great-grandbaby, Christopher.

A visitation for Manuel will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521.
