

Margaret Marshall, age 103, passed away December 6,2025. She was born in Salisbury, England on October 5, 1922. Due to unfortunate circumstances after WWI, Margaret along with many English children were placed in the Barnabas Orphanage in England. At age 9 she along with other orphans were sent to Fairbridge Farm School in Western Australia and were considered “The lost children" of England.
She later worked for A Doctor and his wife as their nanny. During WWII she met the love of her life – Thomas Marshall from Highlands, Texas. He was serving in the Navy, stationed in Fremantle Australia. They married in 1943, and Christopher Thomas was born in 1944. Enduring a year of countless paperwork the War Bride and infant son arrived in the US to live with her husband in Highlands. They later had their daughter Sandy.
Margaret was considered by all who knew her as loving and kind. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, working in her flower beds, and always enjoyed a hot cup of tea.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas (Bugs) Marshall; son, Christopher Thomas Marshall; sister, Joan Sayer from Australia; and brother, John Beaven from England.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sandy Lindsey and husband Lonnie from Rusk; grandchildren, Shane Marshall and wife Tammy from Liberty, Shasta Marshall from Houston, Leslie Lindsey from Houston; great-grandchildren, Kyel Marshall from New York, Marissa Marshall from Magnolia, Matraca Marshall from Liberty, and an abundant number of loving nephews and nieces she cherished.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm, Monday, December 15, 2025, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521, with the funeral service to begin at 2 pm. Committal will follow at Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Fred Wayne Chandler, John Marshall, Keith Marshall, Mickey Marshall, Tex Woodall, and Zaki Ghanem.
