Margaret Pearl Morgan

Margaret P. Morgan, 85, of Baytown was born May 28, 1923 in Cedar Bayou and passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 in a Baytown healthcare center. She was a 1940 graduate of Barbers Hill High School and a 1944 graduate of St. Mary's Infirmary in Galveston, where she graduated with a R. N. degree. She served in the U. S. Army and then the U. S. Air Force. She was a member of the Lutheran faith and was retired from private practice nursing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Effie Morgan; brothers, Raymond E. Morgan and Sheridan Morgan; and sisters, Charlene Gill, Joy Moss, Laura Mae Morgan and Marvel Lee Dunaway. She is survived by nephews, Otis E. Dunaway Sr., Charles Morgan and Michael Dunaway Sr.; nieces, Evelyn Hilton, Susan Radle, Bessie Hooper, Betty Moss, Sharon Moss and Judy Cupps; and numerous great nephews and great nieces.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Doug Williams officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Tilton Cemetery in Chambers County.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Morgan, Kelly Morgan, Luke Durdin, Michael Dunaway Jr., Mavis Dunaway and Christopher Dunaway.
