Margaret Elaine Wootan

Margaret Elaine Wootan, 87, a longtime resident of Baytown, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 17, 2015 at her home. She was born on April 4, 1928 in Alexandria, LA, and was a resident of Baytown, TX since 1947.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, dancing and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and the Alter Society and she also volunteered at the school. She was employed by Hancock Fabrics in Baytown for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alma Vanlangendonck; her husband of 50 years, Bernard O. “Buck” Wootan; and a son, Van Wootan.

She is survived by two sons, Bernard O. Wootan, Jr., of Baytown, and Larry Wootan and wife Jennifer of Pearland; five daughters, Margaret Svoboda and husband Alan of Houston, Judy Tobul and husband Ross of Conroe, Arlene Huff and husband Robert of Chico, CA, Nancy Schweinle of Baytown, and Vonda Wootan Moreno and husband Joe of Clear Lake; 17 grandchildren, Andrew Critendon, Dione Gaspar, Dana Moody, Suzanne Pinder, Jenifer Huff, Lindsay Hennigan, Hayden Schweinle, Lauran Klose, Leslie Ginzel, Maximilian Moreno, Gabriel Moreno, Quentin Moreno, Amelia Moreno, Sophia Moreno, Kaila Wootan, Reece Wootan and Grant Wootan; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina Ave., Baytown, TX 77520 at 10:30 am with interment to follow immediately at San Jacinto Memorial Park, 14659 East Frwy, Houston, TX 77015.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ross Tobul, Alan Svoboda, Robert Huff, Hayden Schweinle, Andrew Critendon, and Maximilian Moreno; honorary pallbearers will be Gabriel Moreno, Quentin Moreno, Reece Wootan and Grant Wootan.
