Margarita Rodriguez

Margarita Rodriguez, 79, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026. She was born on June 28, 1946, in Matamoros, Mexico, to the late Maria Del Refugio Alvizo and Sabas Martinez. Margarita proudly retired from Goose Creek Consolidated School District after more than 40 years. She enjoyed watching many generations of children come through Horace Mann Jr. High School; while ensuring they had a clean and healthy environment to learn in. Devoted to her faith in God, she was a long-time parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Baytown.

At the young age of 17, Margarita married the love of her life, a young man by the name of Eugenio Rodriguez, in 1963. For the next 63 years they built a beautiful life together, while raising their 7 children and watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

Margarita pursued many interests, some of which included her love for playing BINGO or loteria and cooking for her family. They especially loved her tortillas. She also loved listening to her favorite music on full blast. Her greatest joy in life came from the precious time spent with her family. Margarita’s personality and infectious laugh lit up any room with her presence.

Margarita was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Maria Eugenia Rodriguez; her son Daniel Rodriguez; and her brother Sebastian Martinez. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband Eugenio Sr.; her children Elvia Rodriguez, Olga Pineda and husband Silvestre, Blanca Rodriguez, Eugenio Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Ofelia, Isabel Rodriguez and husband Raul; her grandchildren Valerie Rodriguez, Osvaldo and Karina Pineda, Maggie Cabriales, Samantha Jantes, Edward Rodriguez, Bulmaro Cordova, Vivian Martinez, Mariela Cordova, Jennifer Rodriguez, Victoria Rodriguez, Aaron Rodriguez, and Christian Rodriguez; her 17 great-grandchildren; her siblings Pedro Martinez, Maria Hernandez, Francisca Cruz, Juanita Garza, and Erasmo Martinez; her numerous nieces and nephews; her many cousins; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on June 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1124 Beech Street, Baytown, Texas 77520, on June 2, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by a Graveside service at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on June 2, 2026, at 12:30 pm.
