November 9, 1924 – March 10, 2018
Margie Mae Wilson Burleson was born in Corsicana, Texas on November 9, 1924 to Olin Edward Wilson and Linnie Ellen Sheets Wilson. She went peacefully to Heaven surrounded by family on March 10, 2018 at the age of 93.
She met John Parker Burleson in March of 1943. She described their romance as “quick” but one that stood the test of time. Married on June 18. 1943, they lived their life together for 55 years in Baytown, Texas until his death in 1998.
As an active member of Trinity Tabernacle Church since 1963, Women’s Ministry and The Goldenaires were close to her heart. According to Margie, other than accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior, becoming part of the Trinity Church family was the greatest blessing and the best decision that she ever made. She loved being a homemaker and cooking for the family. She was accomplished at many types of needlework and was often found tending the flower beds and vegetable garden.
She is preceded in death by both parents, sister Frankie and brother Joe, her husband, her step-daughter Shirley Burleson La Vergne and husband Robert and her grandson Mark Robert La Vergne. She is survived by her loving step-daughter Jean Burleson Creekmore, adoring grandchildren Laura La Vergne, Michelle La Vergne Davis (Mic), Lisa Creekmore Woods, Lee La Vergne (Cathy) and Michael Creekmore (Kim), great-grandchildren Typhani Phillips, Ashley Miller, Christian Johnson, Brittney Davis, Dylan and Dustin La Vergne, Rylan Creekmore, Mason Woods, and great-great grandchildren Taylor King, Skyler Smith, Colton and Camron Johnson.
