Marina Medina Lopez

Marina Medina Lopez, 41 of Baytown, Texas passed away December 5, 2022. She was a loving wife, caring mother, kindhearted daughter, strong sister, best aunt, and friend. Marina was born in Houston, Texas on July 31, 1981, to Ofelia Mendoza and Noel Medina.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Houston in 2007. Soon after Marina started her career, she worked for Steinberg Design Collaborative. She married her other half, Ilych Lopez in January of 2009. Marina was an active member of Templo Bethel. She had a strong faith in God and even in her toughest days she never lost her hope or her praise. She was a mighty warrior for the kingdom. Her hope and desire were always for her Heavenly Father. She touched many lives with her strength and passion.

Marina enjoyed crafts, designing, baking, star gazing, decorating for events, and hosting celebrations. Most importantly, Marina was a loving and selfless wife to Ilych and mother to Jacob. She was a very creative soul; she had a way of making every occasion a memorable one with her special added touches.

She was preceded in death by grandparents: Magdalena Tierrafia, Antonio Mendoza, Patricia Ruiz and father Noel Medina Sr.

Marina is survived by husband Ilych V. Lopez; son Jacob Lopez; her mother Ofelia Medina; Aunt Queta Mendoza; brother Jose Medina & wife Maria; brother Noel Medina; brother Pablo Medina; brother Daniel Medina & wife Damaris; sister Janet Tello & husband Cirino; and many nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members.

Marina would want everyone to know she received her miracle and is healed. She is rejoicing in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Marina will forever be in our hearts, as she was the love, light, and strength that brought our family together. She will be greatly missed… especially her laugh, smile and sense of humor.

Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.

Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Monday, December 12, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Jose Medina, Noel Medina, Pablo Medina, Daniel Medina, Albino Lopez, Cirino Tello, Zakary Medina, and Nicholas Garza.
