

Marjorie Reidland Brown, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was born January 22, 1915 in Crosby, Texas and had been a resident of the Baytown area since then. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, The University of Houston and was member of Wooster Baptist Church of Baytown for 48 years. Previously, she belonged to the First Baptist Church of Crosby, Texas. Mrs. Brown was a member of Art League of Baytown, the Lakewood Garden Club and the Baytown Women’s Club. Mrs. Brown was a teacher for the Deer Park school district for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1980 to more fully enjoy her passion for art and gardening and being a loving wife and mother and grandmother and great grandmother.
Her parents Louis Reidland and Matilda Bittick, a brother Wilburn Reidland, her husband Roy Augustus Brown and a grandson Bert Brown preceded Mrs. Brown in death. She is survived by two Sons; Lewis Wright and Daughter-in-law Bonnie Jean Brown, of Corpus Christi and Robert Roy and Daughter-in-law Mary Howard Brown of Houston; Sister; Earlyne Reidland Sheets of San Antonio; Grandchildren Travis Wright Brown of Boca Raton, Florida and Ryan Robb Brown of Boynton Beach, Florida, Tammie Brown of Katy; and Daniel Edward and Kim Brown of Houston; Great-grandchildren Courtney Lee and Todd Nathaniel Brown of Katy, Garrett Brown of Midlothian, Virginia, and Shelby Violet and Reidland Robert Brown of Houston.
Family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday, January 05, 2010. Services for Mrs. Brown will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 06, 2010 at the Wooster Baptist Church 7707 Bayway Drive in Baytown. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery on Sralla Road in Crosby following the service. Pallbearers will be Travis Brown, Ryan Brown, Danny Brown, Todd Brown, Michael Sheets and Kenneth Martin. Honorary Pallbearers; Deacons of Wooster Baptist Church; and Officiating, DR. Mack Jones of Baytown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wooster Baptist Church, Gideons International or the Charity of your choice.
