Martha N. Tiner Starkey, age 87, of Baytown, entered Heaven on December 5, 2021. She was born in Malakoff, Texas on October 14, 1934, to Eloyce and Calvin Tiner. On November 28, 1953, she married the love of her life, Bill Starkey. They recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. Martha and Bill have two daughters, Teri and Sheri.
Martha was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1953. She worked at Baytown Junior School and Ross S. Sterling High School for more than twenty years.
She enjoyed being with her family, especially the grandchildren and the great-grandsons. She loved sewing, baking, and attending church at Memorial Baptist Church. Her Sunday School class was special to her.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Calvin Tiner Jr, her sister, Geraldine Sulas, and her niece, Melissa Ann Tiner.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and David Sanders and Sheri and Phil Morrison. Her dearly loved grandchildren and great-grandsons also survive her: Kristen McDonald & Greg Wagner, Seth McDonald, Cody & Haley Morrison, Charles Morrison, and Kenneth Morrison.
Martha also leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Carolyn Tiner, and nieces and nephews: Melissa and David Targac, Noah and Riley Targac, Chris Tiner, Linda and Jay Adams, Tom and Arlene Sulas. She also leaves behind several cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Angela Williams and Letcia Garnett, R.N. for the loving care given Martha during these past few weeks.
Memorial donations may be made in Martha's memory to Memorial Baptist Church or Samaritan's Purse: Operation Christmas Child.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Memorial Baptist Church Chapel, 600 W. Sterling Ave., Baytown, TX 77520. Funeral service will follow and begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be private for family.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Phil Morrison, Cody Morrison, Chris Tiner, George Gann, Scott Wilson, Greg Wagner, and honorary pallbearer Seth McDonald.
