Mary Esther Esther Rivera Butler

Mary Esther (Rivera) Butler, 60 of Crosby, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on May 21, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 16, 1952, to Manuel and Juanita Rivera. Esther was long time resident of Baytown, where she met and married Samuel Butler. Esther retired from Crosby ISD. Esther loved the outdoors, listening to music, cooking for her family and was an avid Astros fan. Esther was a giving person, who was always willing to go out of her way to help a person in need. She was a loving mother not only to her son, but to many others.

Esther is preceded in her death by her husband, Samuel Butler; her father, Manuel Rivera; and brothers, Juan Rivera, Alfred Garcia, and Fernando Rivera. Esther is survived by her son, Joe Pompa, and wife, Elsa; grandchildren, Aerielle Pompa, Sarrah Pompa, and Nicholas Pompa, of Baytown; mother, Juanita Rivera, of Midland of Odessa TX; sisters, Maria Salazar, of Baytown, TX; Lupita Villegran, of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Ceasar Rivera and Ralph Rivera, sister Norma Castillo, and husband, Martin; brother,Victor Rivera, and wife, Carmen, of Houston, TX; sister Hilda Gallegas, and husband, John, of Midland of Odessa; brother, Gilbert Rivera, and wife, Debbie, of Corpus Christi, TX; extended family members, Suzie Gonzales; Cindy Gutierrez, and husband, Henry; Joe Franco, and wife, Lupe; Genaro Salazar, and wife, Mary; Chris Salazar, and wife, Jesica; Joesph Franco, and wife, Erica, all of Baytown, TX; and numerous family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 24th, from 05:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday May 25th, at 12:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, TX.
