Mary Ann Jackson

Mary Ann ""Aunt Bea"" Jackson, 54, lifelong resident of Baytown, was born December 5, 1956 and passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at home. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and The University of Texas at Galveston, where she received her R. N. degree. She had been a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for 52 years and was currently a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was a R. N. at Gulf Coast Hospital, Humana Hospital Baytown, and San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, where she retired. Growing up, she was active in Girl Scouts. Not seeking recognition, she did many things for people ""behind the scenes"", especially when it involved children. She enjoyed buying gifts for her great niece and great nephews and she loved her family and her puppy dog, Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dee and Thelma Albright; father, David Funderburk; husband, James William ""Sgt. J. J."" Jackson; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and John Ickes; and infant sister and infant brother, Helen Marie and Wiliam Lawson Funderburk. She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Funderburk of Baytown; brother, Robert Funderburk of Mont Belvieu; nephews, John David Ickes of Houston, Scott Ickes of Old River, and Matthew Funderburk of Houston; and numerous cousins and close family friends.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3811 N. Main St., Baytown, TX 77521 with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews and Zane Moseley, Mike Mihalik, and Bobby Moseley. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Bruce Kennedy.
