Mary Helen James

Mary Helen James, 91, of Highlands, passed away at her home, surrounded by family and friends on Nov. 15, 2011. She was born in Mendenhall, MS, and that is where she met the love of her life, Raymond James in 1935. They were married in 1938, in Raleigh, MS. She moved to Baytown, in 1941, where Raymond worked for Exxon.

Mary loved to hunt, fish and work in her flower garden. She and Raymond enjoyed traveling and cruising.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Ray James and grandson, DeWayne James.

She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Raymond James; son, Harvey James and wife Brenda; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at Highlands United Methodist Church, 107 West Houston, Highlands, TX. Interment will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park, Houston.
