

Mary Elizabeth Martin, 79, of Baytown was born December 8, 1929 in Baytown and passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 in a Houston hospital. She was a 1947 graduate of Cedar Bayou High School and then graduated from Southwestern Business University. She loved her dog, Shadow and enjoyed Disney movies, collecting china figurines and watching hummingbirds while drinking hot tea. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jessie Guy and daughter, Shirley Darlene Martin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Martin of Baytown; son, Marvin Martin and daughter, Debbie Wilson, both of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Carol Guy of Baytown; grandchildren, Mark and Tiffany Wilson, Thomas and Amanda Wilson and Shirley and Joseph Shiflet; and nephews, Gary Guy and Kevin Guy.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Joseph Shiflet II, Gary Guy, Kevin Guy and Jeremy Meekins.
