Maxine Hartman

Maxine Hartman, 87, of Crosby was born November 27, 1921 in Haskins, IA and passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 in Baytown. She was a member of the Baptist faith and was a proud Marine, having served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII. She was an active member of the Women Marines Association until her death. She loved animals and was a supporter of many animal shelters and foundations. Her true joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burr and Dorothy Taylor and husband, John Hartman and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamn and Phil Weaver of Baytown; grandchildren, Brian Weaver and girlfriend, Keri Manning and Jennifer Weaver, all of Austin; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hartman of Eugene OR; and her dog Button and her cat Shadow.

A private memorial service will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Burial will be next to her husband.
