Born October 9, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, Melanie was known for her warmth, strength, and deep devotion to her family and friends. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and went on to build a long and successful career, working for 35 years at Swagelok in Baytown, Texas, and most recently at Noble Construction in Fulshear, Texas.
Melanie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ricky Strange, and her parents, David and Josephine Pooley. She is survived by her daughter, Deirdre Hundemer and her husband Greg Hundemer; her son, Ryan Strange; and her cherished grandchildren, Kain and Cohen Hundemer, all of whom were the light of her life.
Family was at the heart of everything Melanie did. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and created lasting memories on family trips to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels and the JW Marriott in San Antonio. Melanie also found great joy in Northside Baptist, during her years in Baytown.
Melanie will be remembered for her generosity, her laughter, and her unwavering love for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, commitment, and faith.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521, with the funeral service to follow and begin at 11:00 a.m.
The committal will be at 12:30 p.m., at Cedarcrest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd, Baytown, TX 77520.
