Melba Ladonna Fisher

Melba LaDonna Morgan Fisher, 93, of New Braunfels, Texas was called to heaven on December 25, 2022. LaDonna was born on October 4, 1929 to Robert and Rhoda Morgan in Wichita Falls, Texas, and is survived by her husband of 75 years, Arlin Gray Fisher.

LaDonna and Arlin were married on September 12, 1947 in Baytown, Texas. They were blessed with three children, Rex Fisher (Mona), Sue Fisher Phillips(the late Larry) and Donnice Brandon (John). She had 6 grandchildren, Damon Fisher (Amy), Michael Barron (Veronica), Bobby Barron (Jo), Adam Brandon (Emily) Ricky Barron (Crystal) and Jared Brandon; 6 great-grandchildren, Kenzie Barron, Savannah Barron, Calli Barron, Charlotte Brandon, Kate Brandon, and Addison Barron; nephews Mark Montgomery (Susie), Corey Morgan (Olivia), and Mark Morgan; niece Bridget Montgomery Spretz as well as many great nieces and nephews.

When LaDonna was young her family moved often for her dad's work as a pipe fitter. She graduated from Robert E Lee High School and attended Lee College both in Baytown, Texas.

Being a first rate seamstress, LaDonna could cut patterns just by looking at the item. When the children were young she made all their clothes as well as the girls’ Barbie clothes. She also loved to cook and share meals with family and friends, often topping the meals off with margaritas!

LaDonna had a love for travel and the family went on many extended camping trips throughout their lives. When Arlin retired from Texas Eastern they traveled extensively in their motorhomes for the next 39 years, visiting all 50 states, Canada and Mexico, all the while documenting their travel experiences through thousands of photos, all categorized and placed in photo albums. She also had a love for oil painting and quilting, for which she won many ribbons, including her quilt taking the Best in Show award at the Comal County Fair.

LaDonna is predeceased in death by her parents, sister Bobbie Montgomery, brother Sonny Morgan, grandson Jared Brandon, son-in-law Larry Phillips and niece Bridget Montgomery Spretz.

LaDonna will be laid to rest at a graveside service on Friday, December 30th at 12 noon at Cedarcrest Cemetery at 3010 Ferry Road Baytown, Texas 77520.
