Mellie Blanche Rieck

Mellie Blanche Rieck, 88, of Baytown was born August 27, 1926, in Cold Spring, TX and passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Wooster Baptist Church and The Art League of Baytown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mellie Shirley; husbands, Hadyn Harper and Alstern Rieck, Sr.; and brothers, Carl Shirley, Morris Shirley, and Curtis Shirley. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda Rieck of Townsend, TN and Mark and Elizabeth Rieck and Alstern, Jr. and Cindy Rieck, all of Baytown; grandchildren, Jennifer Flores, Adam Rieck, Sara Rieck, Taylor Rieck, and Tammie Grevin; and five great grandchildren.

Her family will begin receiving friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday, June 8, 2015, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jason Shuttlesworth officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Her family would like to say a special ""thank you"" to the caregivers at the Cedar Bayou Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center at Baytown for the special care provided to her.
