IN LOVING MEMORY June 20, 1931 - April 09, 2018

Anticipation, anxiety, excitement never went away as he watched his ball slowly roll down the lane, then at the last minute, it took that last slight left curve and BAM! You could hear the cracking of the pins as they all fell . . . STRIKE! Smiling from ear to ear, he would hear his team mates cheer, good job Slim, way to go, as they all high five him on his way back to his chair. Man, you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. Strikes were a nice accomplishment and trying to get that perfect 300, what a bragging right that would be. :)

Melvyn “aka Slim” Thomas Cochran 86, of Cove, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Baytown, Texas. He finally bowled that 300, knocking down every pin for the biggest CELEBRATION of his Life. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, PawPaw, Son, Brother, Uncle, and dear friend to many. Melvyn was born on June 20, 1931, in Liberty, Texas, to Joseph and Adeline Cress Cochran. He graduated from Barbers Hill High School, Class of 1949. Once released from active military service he completed 8 years of service in the Army Reserve. Melvyn retired from Sun Oil Company in 1998 after 38 years of loyal service.

Melvyn had a passion for spending time in the Marsh fishing and hunting with his brothers and friends, supporting the BH Eagles, bowling, watching the Astros, Texans and Rockets, wood work, working in his yard, tending to his rose gardens and family. He had a huge heart, a beautiful smile, was very kind, soft spoken, and will be missed by all who knew him. Melvyn was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cochran, his mother, Adeline Cress Cochran, wife, Wanda Jean Orr Cochran, Daughters, Angela Kay Cochran Wendall and Tina Jean Cox; Brothers - Bernard “Tookie” Cochran, Jimmy Wayne Cochran, and Steve Cochran; Grandson, Thomas Wayne Cox.
