A native of Baytown, Michael was the son of James Edwin Burgess Sr. and Ruby Charlene Beaird.
Michael worked in the refining industry for ExxonMobil until his retirement. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and visiting with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Marilyn Martin Baugh.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Keely Himsel, Daughters and spouses, Kelli & Bobby Metzger; Misti & Mark Budro; son and spouse, Clinton & Laura Burgess; Grandchildren, Ryan & Brittany Metzger; Jakob Metzger, Shelby Blackwell, Blake Blackwell, Kira Budro, Harley Budro, Damon Harrison, Austin Harrison and 4 great grandchildren, Adeline Metzger, Emery Marshall, Maverick Budro, Ryder Wilette.
He is also survived by 4 sisters and a brother, Jan & Joe Martin, Laurie & Jackie Curry, Maribeth & Ricky Ray, Kathy and Tim Wood, Jimmy & Susan Burgess. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm, Tuesday, June 1, 2021, with the funeral service to follow at 2 pm, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his longtime friends, Vaughn Hazlett, Nick Boyett, Mitchell Hammack, Robert Spinks, Ray Mullins.
