Mildred Hutchins

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Amon Hutchins; sisters, Wilma Parish, Bethel Lesser, and Pauline Lynn; brother, Olen Parish; and son-in-law, Earl Smith.

Mildred was a member of Second Baptist Church in Baytown for 67 years, and loved teaching and attending Sunday school.

After the death of her husband in 1959, Mildred received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, and taught school in Aransas Pass and Donna, Texas into her late seventies.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Gloria Smith of Baytown; sons, Larry Hutchins and wife Sherry of San Antonio, and Staton Hutchins and wife Cathey of Baytown; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff at St. James House for all the love and care they have given our mother.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home.
