Moreli Melendez Vasquez

Moreli Melendez Vasquez, age 13 of Red Oak, Texas passed away on June 7, 2026. Moreli was born on January 15, 2013 in Baytown, Texas to Jimmy Vasquez and Veronica Cruz. She was a bright, sweet, and creative young girl whose kind spirit and personality brought happiness to her family and friends. A student who had just completed sixth grade, Moreli was eagerly looking forward to beginning a new chapter at school and was especially excited about the opportunity to play volleyball in the coming year. She attended Dr. Joy Shaw Middle School in Red Oak, where she was known as a sweet and caring friend. Moreli had a wonderful imagination and a love for all things creative. She enjoyed drawing, sketching and coloring, often expressing herself through her artwork. She loved opening Pokémon cards with her dad and her sister Leah, another favorite was collecting fidget spinners and treasured her collection of Squishmallows and Hello Kitty items. Like many girls her age, she enjoyed listening to popular music and loved keeping up with the latest songs and trends. Among her simple joys in life were trips to 7-Eleven for her favorite slushies, spending time with her family, and sharing laughter with those closest to her. Moreli was deeply loved by her siblings and cherished the special bond she shared with each of them. She brought light, laughter, and happiness wherever she went.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Juana Vasquez.

She is survived by her father Jimmy Vasquez; mother Veronica Cruz; siblings: Alizae Cruz, Leah Vasquez, Veronica Vasquez, Josiah Cruz and Catalina Vasquez; grandfather Cleto Vasquez; grandmother Guadalupe Sanchez; as well as numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family members.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on June 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on June 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Graveside service will be held at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on June 13, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
