Natalie Hodges Carroll

Natalie Hodges Carroll, 88, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Baytown. She was born February 26, 1923 in Comanche, Oklahoma to her late parents, Herman Sowell and Zaylen Yates Sowell.

Natalie spent her early years in Comanche and Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1970 she began living in Louisiana and has spent the last fifteen years in Baytown. She worked most of her life at Lilly and Charlie's, grocery store, and in retail at Hancock Fabrics. Natalie enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Citizens Center and dancing. Later she picked up sewing and embroidery as a hobby so a job at Hancock's was suiting. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Owen Hodges and Elroy Carroll; daughter, Donna Hamilton; grandson, Royce Hamilton and sisters, Margarette Beck and Billie Segrest.

Survivors include her son, Keith Hodges and his wife Gail of Baytown; son-in-law, David Hamilton of Covington, Louisiana; grandchildren; Terrie Sewell, Vicki Brown, Owen Hodges and his wife Lisa and Joey Hodges; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home in Lawton, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home with Jim Antwine Officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden in Lawton.
