

Nettie was born on December 12, 1945 in Lubbock where she attended school and lived until 1976 when she and her husband, Terry, moved to Baytown to become school teachers. She was a graduate of the University of Houston-Clear Lake and taught in the GCISD schools for 25 years, retiring in 2011. She also drove a school bus for many years and enjoyed it immensely. She was tremendously loved by all and she never met a stranger.
Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Conner and sister, Barbara Jacobs. She is survived by her daughter, Cristen Autry, of Baytown; a sister, Bettie Simpson, of College Station and a brother, Coleman Conner, of Conway, Arkansas.
Nettie desired to be cremated, and have her remains buried beside her parents at the City of College Station Cemetery. There will be a memorial visitation at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Somerville on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow. The church is located at 862 Avenue D, Somerville, TX 77879.
