

Howellville, Texas (now Alief) to Charles and Vlasta Schiller Kovar on July 17, 1925. She was very proud of her Czech heritage.
She graduated valedictorian from Missouri City High School and then received her RN from the Lillie Jolly School of Nursing where she was again valedictorian of her graduating class and a member of the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corp. She received an AA degree from University of Houston. After graduation, she married Baxter who she met while he was on leave from the Army Air Corp. She then worked with him in the family grocery business for 19 years. After the store was sold, she took a refresher course in nursing including several courses in cardiac care from Texas Woman’s University in
Houston. Then she began her 27 year nursing career at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown where she held several positions. After retirement, she was a member of the Volunteer Service Corp at the hospital for 15 years until age 90.
Norma also stayed busy during these years supporting her sons as room mother at school, cub scout mother, and little league mother.
She is the last living charter member of the Noon Pilot Club of Baytown. She
loved her Lord and Savior and was active at Central Baptist Church since 1946. She served on many committees and sang in the choir. Norma loved to travel. She made several trips to Europe, South America, Canada, and to many states in the U.S.
including Hawaii. She had many close friends and enjoyed playing dominoes and bridge and shopping with them. Another joy was rooting for her Houston Astros.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Baxter Littlefield Jr., and brother-in-law Morris Aves Littlefield Sr. She is survived by sons Leighton LIttlefield and wife Kathy and Alan Littlefield and wife Jennifer of Baytown. She had four grandchildren - Kyle LIttlefield and wife Teresa of College Station, Alana Redepenning of San Antonio, Perry Littlefield of Austin, and Nelson Littlefield and wife Rebecca of
Richardson. She was great-grandmother to Graham and Annie Littlefield, Nate Laffin,
Texas Kirsch, and Quinn and Morgan Littlefield. She is also survived by her
sister-in-law, Cookie Littlefield, from Lexington, Tennessee. Norma loved her family and prayed for them daily.
The visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Navarre Funeral Home on officiated by Mark Berkley. Visitation will be start at 10:00 with the funeral service following at 11:30. Interment will be at Sterling White Cemetery.
The family extends special thanks to caregivers and friends Rose Kennon,
Sharon Berkley, and Pat Brown. Also appreciation to Dr. Chris Hays and staff, as well as for all who cared for her from Traditions Home Health Care and Hospice Care.
