

Norma was born on February 27, 1924 in West Frankfort Illinois, and and was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 21, 2017. She was one of four chilren born to Bernice Elizabeth Cantrell and George Carl Cantrell of West Frankfort. She has a Sister Dorothy Joan and two Brothers, George and Bill. Joan is still alive and is 91 years old. Bill and George both served in WWII in the U.S. NAVY. Both have passed on and are now guarding the gates to Heaven.
Norma was an outstanding student throughout school and received excellent marks. In her 20s, Norma worked for the Telephone Company as a Switchboard Operator. Norma met Fred Crain, got married and moved to Shreveport Louisiana to assist with the care of his Grandparents who were elderly. Later on in life they moved to California and she worked in Advertising for the San Jose Mercury Newspaper. Norma and Fred had a total of 4 boys Frederick Jr., Michael and the Twins, Robert and George.
As these things go, Norma and Fred went their seperate ways and Norma took her 4 boys and left California to ultimately find her way to the great state of Texas. Along the way, her Mother Bernice re-joined the family to help raise the boys.
Norma had attended training to be a Beautician/Cosmetologist. Norma ultimately went to work for J.C. Penneys as a Buyer/Merchandiser of Cosmetics where she finished her work career and was noted as top '10' in sales of Cosmetics in the USA.
Norma took great pride in the raising of her family with the help of Bernice, Joan her sister and Bob Bogart, Joan's husband and numerous relatives that served as her support system. She was a good Christian woman and passed down God's teachings to her children and the values that make good men into great men. All of her sons went forth to be married and have their own families.
Norma attended church regulary and was very active in the church. Upon moving to Texas in July of 1979, she joined the Crosby United Methodist Church where she was given the title of "Cookie Lady" due to the fact that always made cookies to support the youth of the church.
Norma married Joseph Webb of Crosby Texas and they had an excellent marriage of 18 years before Joe succumed to Cancer in 1998. Joe was a gentlemans's gentleman and loved her with all his heart. Joe was the love of Norma's life and she talked about him until her passing.
Norma was preceeded in death by Brothers George and Bill Cantrell, Mother Bernice Cantrell, Sons, Michael and Frederick Jr. Norma is survived by her twin sons, Robert A. and George C. Crain, multiple grand children and several great grand children.
