Norman Dale Burkett, 86, of Baytown, Texas passed on March 15, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Norman was born on September 21, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Roy and Jessie Dailey Burkett. He is survived by his wife Janice Burkett; his children Janie Burkett Shirley, Kristi Burkett Sandel and husband Ken; grandsons Cameron and his wife Jocelyn Shirley and Taylor Shirley; and granddaughters Amelia and Chloe Sandel.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his loving "Dad" Herman Kimble; his son Billy Wayne Burkett; and his brother Ralph Burkett.
He is also survived by his wife Janice's children and grandchildren.
Norman was a proud Air Force veteran and showed his patriotism by flying his flag and wearing his favorite veterans cap everywhere. He was a retired member of the pipefitters Local 211. Norman proudly gave sixty plus years as a member and loyal hard worker. After retiring Norman and Janice loved traveling in their RV. They visited all of the home forty eight states and never missed a chance to visit with family and friends "kinfolk" along the way.
