Norman E. Bryant, 94, of Baytown, Texas passed away peacefully to his heavenly home on December 6, 2023 with his daughter by his side. He was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on January 17, 1929 to Jack and Bessie Bryant. It was there that he met and married his wife, Sue. Shortly after their son was born, they moved to Baytown, Texas to be with family.
While in Baytown, he worked in different sales positions and then managed the Singer Sewing Machine Store. After leaving Singer he continued a side job of successfully repairing sewing machines from his home workshop. Being mechanically minded, he took on a position in the maintenance department at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, and then at Lee College until his retirement. When he was not working, he liked spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, boating and working in his backyard garden.
Norman was an active member of Second Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon. He was also a Mason for over 50 years and member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge No. 1192. Norman also served as a Shriner for many years in Baytown.
He is survived by his daughter, Patty Russell and husband Chuck; grandsons, Clint Russell and wife Lindsay; Brandon Russell and wife Katy and seven great grandchildren all of Baytown, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Sue Bryant, and son Doug Bryant.
A celebration of Norman’s life will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:30 at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas, with visitation beginning at 9:30 before the service. Graveside service will take place at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown following the service.
