

Parks Garrett Fillingame, 14, of Beach City was born April 27, 2000, in Houston and passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, in a Houston hospital. He was a freshman at Barbers Hill High School, where he was on the tennis team. He and his sister had just won the mixed doubles 5A Region 3 UIL regionals and were to advance to the state tournament. He liked to scare people, especially his dad. Like most kids his age, he enjoyed his computer and cell phone and just being around his friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ora Ann Rice and grandfather, George W. ""Phil"" Fillingame.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Karen Fillingame and sister, Shelby Fillingame, all of Beach City; grandparents, Gayle and Charles Floyd of New Boston, Willie H. Rice of Katy, and Maria V. Fillingame of Houston; uncles and aunts, Scott and Kathleen Fillingame of Pearland, David Rice of Fairfax, VA, Denise and Simon Guajardo of Houston, and Kimberly Fillingame of Boulder, CO; and numerous other family members.
His family will start receiving friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday, April 30, 2015, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. with David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Braden Howell, Ryan Campbell, Jace Nichols, Blake Green, Blake Augustine, Brandon Holt, Elijah Pesudas, and Joseph Muscat.
